The Rochester Genealogical Society maintains a file of surnames being researched by our members. This list also includes locations that the families lived in. Current members of the Rochester Genealogical Society are invited to submit new surnames, corrections or deletions to list, as individual research requires. Please mail your lists to the Rochester Genealogical Society, Inc., P. O. Box 10501, Rochester, NY 14610, to the attention of the Historian.

Included on each of the pages with the surnames is the membership number of the submitter. RGS members receive a list of contributors to this surname list that will give them the name of the submitter. Then you can get the address and/or phone number of the member from the membership list. Only RGS members will get the contributor and membership list. They will not be published on the Internet. People wishing to join RGS, should write to the Rochester Genealogical Society, Inc., P. O. Box 10501, Rochester, NY 14610, in care of the Membership Secretary.

If the location abbreviations are not clear, go to this web site for an explanation of country abbreviations used. In the NY Locale column Roc means Rochester, NY and Mon means Monroe Co., NY.
