Come On a Research Trip

SAVE THE DATE:  OCTOBER 26 AT THE BUFFALO CENTRAL LIBRARY

Peter Bush and Bill Troicke are working together to provide RGS members with research trip opportunities this membership year. COVID prevented us from doing these in recent years. They were always a fun way to discover new information, meet other RGS members, and enjoy conversing with other genealogy-loving people.

The first of these trips will be to the Buffalo Central Library on Saturday, 26 October.  The Grosvenor Room of the Library contains a superb collection of material related not only to Buffalo and Erie County but also to other New York counties, states, and foreign countries.  The Grosvenor Room also houses the collections of the Western New York Genealogical Society and the Polish Genealogical Society of New York State.  More details are available at the Central Library's website.  Whether or not you have families who lived in Western New York, you will find material relevant to your research -- and enjoy the company of fellow RGS members.

Registration for the event will open Wednesday, 24 September on the members-only page of the RGS website.  We will be carpooling to the Library.  This is a benefit of your membership but we ask those riding to contribute to the cost of gas, tolls, and parking for those driving. Lunch is not provided but restaurants can be found within walking distance of the library. Additional information will appear on the RGS Facebook group and website as the event draws closer.

Meanwhile, mark the event in your calendar so you don't miss out on the fun!
