Volunteer

Please consider volunteering your time and expertise to keep RGS the vibrant and remarkable organization it is. There are many volunteer opportunities available to suit your interests and schedule - from one time meeting greeter to ongoing records scanning to filling a position on the Board. We need many hands to continue to provide our members with great programming, digitized local research records, and a vital organization. Take a look to see our current openings. We'd be happy to speak with you. Let us know your availability and interests and we can match you with a suitable volunteer job. Contact info@nyrgs.org

RGS Member Profile:  John Albertini

Joined RGS in 2019

I joined the Writers Group and then RGS in the middle of writing a book about my maternal second great grandfather, Sam Coverly, who was born in Boston in 1793 and kept a journal of his travels. In the Writers Group, I found a community of writers eager to record their own family histories and willing to give feedback and encouragement to others.  At RGS, I found historians and genealogists eager to share their knowledge and expertise, all of which has helped me track down my paternal great grandfather, Biaggio Albertini, who emigrated to Boston from northern Italy in 1873.  Thank you, RGS!
